Getting Involved

From LugRadio Live 2007

LugRadio Live 2007 is very specifically an event for the Open Source community. As such, we really need your help to make LRL2007 into the great event it can be. Anyone can help with a range of different things, and this page is intended to give you a few ideas.

Speaking

Would you like to speak at LUGRadio Live 2007? We have both main and lightning talks available, and the extra space at the venue this year will allow many more speakers to come and talk at the show. For more information about speaking and how to submit a paper, see the Call For Papers page.

Exhibit

We are keen for projects to come and exhibit their wares (not warez :P). This not only includes software projects and distributions, but we are also keen to see:

  • Digital rights campaigns
  • Hardware hacking - come and show of the things you have hacked
  • Advocacy projects

See the Exhibition page for more. If you've got something interesting and unique you want to show off -- in the past we've had a 3D laser head scanner and a home-built arcade machine -- then get in contact with us!

Organisation

LugRadio Live 2007 is going to be a large event with lots going on, and we need help with things such as:

  • Managing the door
  • Helping people on the day
  • Setting-up and pulling-down

If you'd like to be part of the crew (benefits include free entry, a t-shirt, and a sense of warmth from your contribution; deficits include having to carry stuff, being shouted at by the LR team, and having to tell people where the toilets are nine thousand times during the day) then please contact us! We'll love you for it!

Anything else?

At LugRadio Live 2007 we have the space and opportunity to do anything. If you have a great idea for something that you think would be cool at the show, drop us a line and suggest it.

Oh, and don't forget...
